Imperial:
1936-1939 Legion Condor:
This version of the wound badge was created as a
recognition to the german volunteers that fought the bolsheviks in spain
during the spanish civil war. It was created by hitler on 22 May 1939.
The design of the badge is the same as those awarded
during the WWI (imperial) but with a swastica added to the helmet.
During the spanish campaing only 1 silver and 182 black
badges were awarded.
1939-1945:
On Septembet 1st of 1939, hitler reinstituted the wound
badge with a new design to it. Every individual previously awarded any
category of the award in WWI and SCW, will be counted towards the next
higher class.
